--The sun had just risen over the horizon, lighting a path through the woods, just managing to get through the thick leaves of the trees, and it gave a blotchy pattern of light on the forest floor. It was could warm a cold cat easily up, and the breeze could cool them right off, it was very refreshing. The wind was pretty lively today, running ahead like a little kit, full of excitement.
--But to Icestorm it was just another regular day. Well, no, not really. Today was the first day of training with his new apprentice, Blizzardpaw, and he was quite excited. He had planned an action packed day that (assuming Wolfcry didn't sent them on any border patrols) he hoped the young apprentice would enjoy. First, he had decided, he would show Blizzardpaw the territory, then he could teach some hunting, and he had saved the best for last, battle training! But even if they did have to go on a patrol, it wouldn't be that bad, Blizzardpaw might meet some cats from other clans.
--Icestorm streched his legs in front of him and yawned. He then forced himself to a standing position inside the warriors den. He exited, running over to the apprentice den, for he didn't want to be late. He pushed past the strands of ivy and fern growing along the den, and when his eyes adjusted to the darkness, tryed to find his apprentice. He was curled up in a corner in a ball, his first time every away from the nursery. His breathing was slow and steady, showing that he was fast asleep. Icestorm bent over and said, "Blizzardpaw, Blizzardpaw, wake up," softy, fr he didn't want to wake the other apprentices. Then Icestorm waited for Blizzardpaw's eyes to open.

♥ The sunlight was gracefully pouring onto a small clearing, covered in bright green grass and surrounded by towering trees above. It was almost as if StarClan were inviting him personally to pounce. The bright orange tabby crouched in the nearby bushes, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. His orange and white striped tail swung slowly back and forth, his eyes narrowed in concentration. The mouse paused for a moment, giving Blizzardpaw the absolute perfect chance to kill. The tom flew forward, his claws outstretched as he got nearer and nearer... when suddenly a voice interrupted his concentration. Crash! His head sailed into the trunk of a tree.
Blizzardpaw, Blizzardpaw, wake up. The voice said, and the tom's electric blue eyes flew wide open. The young tom straightened up with a huge yawn, and stretched luxuriously. His gaze slid sideways to Icestorm, his thoughts caught between excitement and irritation. Blizzardpaw glanced back at his mossy nest wistfully, and back up to his newly announced mentor. "What are we doing today?" He asked in a clearly dull tone. Maybe they could climb the tallest tree in the forest, or do something really fun like trespass on another Clan's territory and steal from their medicine cat or something. ♥

--It took a while for the apprentice to wake up, and after that another minute or so for him to get his head straight. "What are we doing today?" Blizzardpaw said in a dull, bored way. Icestorm sighed, he wasn't as nearly as excited as he had hoped. Icestorm had planned a fun day and he hoped that it would still be fun without the enthusiasm from the apprentice.
--Icestrom stared down at the small orange tabby. "As it will be your first time in the territory, I want to show you around and teach you the other clan's scents," he meowed in a stern tone. "Then we shall do a hunting patrol and, if we have time, I can teach you some basic battle training moves." Icestorm nodded, he had the whole day planned out in his head.
--Blizzardpaw was still lying down, but they need to get moving and out before the sun rose fully. "Come on," he mewed. "Wake up, we need to go. You can take a piece a fresh-kill from the pile, but only one, and eat it quickly." The apprentice hadn't put him in a bad mood yet, and he was still as excited as he was before, but he still needed to be strict and teach Blizzardpaw everything he knew.

♥ Blizzardpaw glanced down at his ruffled fur and the twigs stuck in between. He dug the leaves and twigs out with his teeth and groomed his bright orange fur as his mentor spoke. I want to show you around and teach you the other Clan's scents. He blinked once. Well, it wasn't stealing from another medicine cat or jumping rivers, but it was good enough. His blue eyes glazed over as Icestorm talked of a hunting patrol, and he brightened up at the words "battle training". Finally, something interesting! Blizzardpaw thought of the new moves he would be taught, and daydreamed about being the strongest warrior of all the Clans. The young apprentice snapped back to reality when his mentor told him to wake up. Blizzardpaw's tail twitched irritably; he truly hated being ordered around, much less by a cat only moons older than himself. The tom stood up, rather slowly and yawned again. His belly rumbled suddenly, and the tom quickly pushed his way out of the den and fast-walked to the fresh-kill pile. He choose a plump mouse, devouring the prey in a matter of seconds in order to stop his growling stomach. "I'm ready." He announced to Icestorm, licking his whiskers after his meal. ♥

--Blizzardpaw blinked, his high intensity blue eyes fixed on Icestorm as he spoke. The apprentice's face was carefully guarded, and Icestorm could not tell what he was thinking, if he was excited or bored by the day's plans. Then Blizzardpaw streched slowly and left the den. Icestorm followed and he saw him taking a mouse from the fresh-kill pile and devouring it. Blizzardpaw turned back to face Icestorm. "I'm ready," he meowed.
--Icestorm swept his long tail around him. "Good," he replied. "We better get going quickly." Icestorm jerked with his tail to show Blizzardpaw that he was to follow, and then he left the camp's clearing throught the thorn barrier. As he walked at a brisk pace, Icestorm's thoughts turned around to the day's plans, but occasionally he would check to make sure that Blizzardpaw was following. "I will show him the border with Riverclan first, show him the stream there. Then we can go in a circle around to the Windclan border, and I will show him Fourtrees, where he will be going soon. Finally, they would loop around to the Shadowclan border and return back to camp.
--In the distance, Icestorm could here the sound of the rushing water in the stream. His pace quickened, and he turned around to face the apprentice. "You coming?" he asked.

♥ Good. We better get going. A fiery prickle of irritation shot down the tom's spine, his ear flicking back and forth to show his annoyance. Who said some cat only a couple moons older than him could boss him around? Not in his world, Blizzardpaw thought. The orange tabby followed reluctantly, constantly resisting the urge to swipe Icestorm in the face or wonder off and explore on his own. He would climb the highest tree and jump from branch to branch, and cross the borders to hunt on another Clan's territory. Blizzardpaw lived for danger, and was repeatedly searching for an adventure. It gave him a sense of power and happiness when he was doing something risky or dangerous. His tail swiped back and forth across the undergrowth as Blizzardpaw trotted along in content, daydreaming about some daredevil trick of his. His electric blue eyes followed every flicker of movement in the forest, his head snapping back and forth as the sound of a leaf rustling or a prey scuttling across the ground alerted his senses. The young tom started to relax, thinking maybe this wasn't such a bad thing after all. ♥

--Icestorm kept going forward, sometimes looking back to see if the apprentice was following him. Her heard the sound of the river ahead, and his pace quickened. He knew that his bossiness was irritating the Blizzardpaw, but what was he supposed to do? He was the mentor and Blizzardpaw the apprentice, after all. Icestorm turned and looked over hsi shoulder, calling out, "Come on, we have much to do today!"
--Icestorm was going to show Blizzardpaw the border with Riverclan first, and teach him the salty and fishy smell of Riverclan territories. Then they would go to Fourtrees, near Windclan, and Blizzardpaw could witness the cats that lived in the open moor, and finally they could travel to Shadowclan, and the Blizzardpaw would know the rank and dark smell forever.
--Icestorm paused, at the bank to the rushing river with the apprnetice right behind him. He turned, staring Blizzardpaw in the eye, and spoke with a formal tone. "This is our border with Riverclan, and this is where they hunt and swim," he meowed. Then he took in a whiff of scent. "And the fishy smell is their border line that we cannot cross."

♥ Blizzardpaw padded a bit faster to keep up with is new mentor, grumbling about the heat or the dried up grass being rough on his paws. He ducked his fiery orange head to avoid the sunlight glaring down on him, warming up his fur instantly. The young tom was about to open his mouth and ask Icestorm how much longer they were going to have to walk through this boring forest, when suddenly his mentor stopped at a river. Blizzardpaw's spirits flew upwards immediately. Finally! Some real excitement! Blizzardpaw thought eagerly, already judging the distance of the river to the other side. It wouldn't be too hard to jump across, or even swim in. Maybe it would lead him to the lake, where he could have some real fun in deeper water. The apprentice half listened to Icestorm as he talked about the boundary with RiverClan. He mentioned something about not crossing the river, but of course Blizzardpaw dismissed that. Rules were meant to be broken, and Blizzardpaw was the adventurous tom who broke them. The orange tabby crouched down, bunching his muscles together, and flew across the river. He landed on the other side, one back leg dangling over the edge into the water. The young apprentice repositioned himself so he was facing Icestorm from across the river. "This is more fun than I'd thought! You know, this training mumbo jumbo." His electric blue eyes danced with excitement, the adrenaline rush he got when he broke a rule. ♥
