Recently Russetpaw had been sleeping. She was curled up in bad, dreaming of ripping the fur off of any other clans warrior. She wasn't sadistic in anyway, starclan no, but she did want to bring pride to her clan for having her around. That was one of the ways to do it. With her size, she was a bit of a joke in her clan. At least, when the joke was whispered among everyone except those who knew Russetpaw and Russetpaw herself. The she-cat had learned to defend herself when another cat insulted her.
So her dream had been of a large battle since there hadn’t been any in a while. To Russetpaw, it was quite eerie that the other clans were keeping quiet. Of course she knew that it was good for the clan’s well-being that no one be hurt, but it was also in her nature to wish for a fight. She wanted to see how well her training was paying off. In her eyes, the real way to test that was in battle. Learning with Wolfcry had been a good experience so far.
The memory of her rude awakening replayed in her mind. She had in fact been sleeping only minutes before. She had been awoken with a hard jab in the side. She was preparing to question the apprentice who had no regard for personal space when she came face to face with her mentor. A small smile was taken into account and Russetpaw looked away, slightly embarrassed. Wolfcry had given her a smile before telling her she needed to go help Kinkfoot for a while. Russetpaw understood why Wolfcry told her to, but that didn’t make her any happier. With a sigh she padded towards the entrance of Kinkfoot’s den. ”Anyone in there?” Russetpaw called out, a bored tone to her voice.

The cranky she-cat limped over to her medicine store as she re-arranged the location of the herbs she had collected. Supporting her body's weight on her hind paws, she used her left forepaw to gather up the herbs and place them on the ground, and put them back into the crevices she chose for them. 'Yes, I'll put the cobwebs over here - but no. We're not expecting battle anytime soon.' I'll put the... she pondered as she looked down at the herbs gathered by her feet. 'The poppy seeds. They can be used for several things, and I'll put them in the crevice nearest the nests for the sick cats.' Once again rearing up on her hind paws, Kinkfoot scooped up the earth beneath the poppy seeds, placing them into the desired crevice. 'Oh well, I can sort them out from the dirt when I need them. Dirt never hurt the efficiency of herbs.'
Sitting back down, Kinkfoot now looked at the rest of the herbs. There were a decent amount - she'd have to go out and collect more now that new-leaf had come.
A voice interrupted her thoughts, and she looked over at the entrance to her den. The apprentice Russetpaw was standing at the entrance, the kit who had been the runt of the litter. Kinkfoot stared at the young cat, a toothy grin forming on her face. Kinkfoot hissed and inquired, "Right, what are you doing here? Already hurt yourself while training?" Her ears flattened against her head and her eyes blazed with hostility. How she hated being disturbed while re-organizing her supplies. {{ I'm fine with you joining. x3 }}

--The wind seemed to sigh and groan throught the trees, reminding the woods of how old it really was. The passed an owl hole, and the result made a whistling sound that could make many sleeping cats. Then it swivled away, leaving the forest deathly still.
--Icestorm padded the clearing back and forth. He had been awaken soon then must cats in the clan and, not wanting to awake anyone, he walked outside and found himself with nothing to do. Bored, he padded back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. An hour later found him doing the same thing, his walking in circles.
--He saw Russetpaw walk out of her den, streching and yawning, her eyes blurred with sleep, and Icestorm walked over to her, wanting a friendly greeting or hello, but the apprentice seemed not to notice him. She continued to the medicine cat den and then stopped, calling out, ”Anyone in there?” in a bored and lazy tone of voice.
--Icestorm shook his head slowly, apprentices these days never knew how to do their duties correctly any more. He padded up to the apprentice. "Need help?" he asked, talking over her shoulder, but not meaning to startle her.
--Just then, Kinkfoot appreared at the entrance to her den. "Right, what are you doing here? Already hurt yourself while training?" she asked sarcastically.

Russetpaw would have been surprised if she had been someone else. This sort of response was normal for someone like her though. This was how she responded to most cats anyways. It didn’t help her mood any bit though. Besides, what the medicine cat had said did hit a small nerve. Hurt herself? Russetpaw gave a snort of anger and opened her mouth to answer before jumping slightly. She twisted herself to find herself looking at Icestorm. Really now, did he think she was incapable of doing things herself. Of course she didn’t need help. And what was with him sneaking around the place like a shadowclan cat?
“I’m here to help you because Wolfcry told me to. And besides, I don’t bruise as easily as some of these soft cats do.” Russetpaw answered, a sneer appearing on her face. The last part was mainly directed to Icestorm. Why exactly would he be here if he hadn’t hurt himself in some way or something? He could very well be out hunting like a warrior should be, not hanging around asking what she was doing. She stood up before shaking herself slightly. Padding forward she moved into the den a bit more. It was a nice place, quite organized actually. Well somewhat, the herbs on the ground were a distraction. She only recognized a few of the herbs, only because they had been used on her and some of her fellow apprentices.

As Icestorm came into view, Kinkfoot hissed with annoyance. 'More distractions!' "Right, the apprentice has a reason to be here, so unless you have good reason I suggest you get out before I rip off your pelt." the calico she-cat growled, her eyes staring at Icestorm and burning with rage - she had said her words like she had meant them. Kinkfoot unsheathed her claws just to make her threat seem valid - she knew she wouldn't attack a clanmate. Well, at least she most likely wouldn't, but some of them just got on her nerves. 'Need help with this, Kinkfoot? Need help with that Kinkfoot? That must be a lot of work for you, Kinkfoot.' She could hear the voices of the many warriors whom had asked her if she needed help, or had commented on her work because of her broken leg. Her fur prickled with annoyance - did she always need someone to come running up to her as if they were a savior, offering their help so selflessly?
"Yea, yea. Well, if Wolfcry really insists that I need help, I guess I'll just have to take you." she replied with a tone of acid. 'And maybe I'll just have to cuff that mousebrain around the ears. By now he should know that I don't need help - unless a cat needs help getting their ears clawed off.' Kinkfoot's green stare looked down at Russetpaw, and her eyes seemed to reveal her harsh thoughts of judgment. Her gaze then shifted back to Icestorm, as she waited for a valid excuse as to why he had come.

--Russetpaw stood there, her lips curling angrily at Kinkfoot's reply. Then she turned around, and saw Icestorm, but she didn't say anything, only glower further still. It made Icestorm slightly angry. "Really now" he thought to himself. "An apprentice shouldn't be glaring at a warrior, should they?"
--Russetpaw then turned around and spoke to Kinkfoot. “I’m here to help you because Wolfcry told me to. And besides, I don’t bruise as easily as some of these soft cats do," she meowed. Icestorm laughed silently. It was good that the Thunderclan deputy was putting annoying kits like this to hard work. Russetpaw had turn around though when she was saying the last sentence, as if it was said for him. "I don't care about that," he thought.
--Kinkfoot then spotted Icestorm and she hissed with annoyance. "Right, the apprentice has a reason to be here, so unless you have good reason I suggest you get out before I rip off your pelt," she mewed angrily. Icestorm wondered why everyone was so cranky today. When her claws became visable, he sighed loudly. "Right, I just came to say hello, but apparantly no ne likes to be greeted in the morning!" His temper had worsened and his voice was raised.
--Kinkfoot glared at Icestorm and then turned back to the apprentice. "Yea, yea. Well, if Wolfcry really insists that I need help, I guess I'll just have to take you." Icestorm was fed up with this discussion. He turned on his paws and strode across the clearing without another word, his prints heavy in the ground. "If you want someone to ruin your day right when you make up, look n farther than the medicine cat den!" he steamed in his head.

Russetpaw looked up as Kinkfoot asked why Icestorm was here. Sure she should have been sympathetic, but it was his own fault he was being chewed out by Kinkfoot. Besides, what did he think would happen when two of the crankiest she-cats in Thunderclan were grouped together. With the slightest hint of a smile, she was actually kind of happy he got out of here while he could. With the way Kinkfoot was glaring at them, she was sure a fight would come along soon. It’s not that Russetpaw was disrespectful to her elders. She treated all of the senior warriors with respect so long as they didn’t poke too much fun at her. She knew it was because they thought she was fun to mess with, not because they were truly mean, but it did get on her nerves more often. That annoyance was usually relayed to the younger warriors who ran around the place like they knew everything and knew exactly what ‘young restless kits’ like her needed to do.
As he walked away, she could only roll her eyes and turn back to Kinkfoot as she finally accepted that Russetpaw was here for a reason. She locked eyes at her and would have immediately put her gaze back down to the floor if she hadn’t been shocked into staring some more. Even Russetpaw wasn’t this harsh was she? Her gaze slid to the side as she scuffled her paws. So she was really hoping for Kinkfoot to hurry up and tell her what to do. The faster she was out of here, the better. Of course Russetpaw was also quite intrigued. Kinkfoot seemed to be one of the easily annoyed types. Maybe she could actually have fun talking with her.

Kinkfoot stared after Icestorm as he left the medicine cat's den, and snorted. "Silly young warriors, thinking they can just run around and barge into the business of other cats!" she spat with disgust and dislike. 'They're all as mousebrained as Emberheart and I were, eh? Just wait until they go off and injure themselves bad and then they need me. And maybe this mousebrain should learn not to disturb me when I'm busy - piece of foxdung. You come in here and expect me to be all happy about you saying hi while I'm sorting out herbs that could save your life later on today?' her ears still rested against her head, and her eyes displayed only annoyance.
"Right. Now you see these herbs? I want you to find the ones that look and smell similar, and put them into piles together. Alright?" Kinkfoot said with a raspy voice, which was still as hostile as always, especially so as she still thought of insults about Icestorm in her head. "And then I'll put them in the crevices I want them to be in. she added, no doubt saying so because of how stubborn and independent she was, and how the duty would seem to tax a cat who couldn't use one of their forepaws. 'That's right, I'll show you that I'm not completely useless, I can still do everything I need to, Wolfcry.' she let out an indignant hiss as she thought of how Wolfcry had probably sent the apprentice to her because of her broken leg, and not because she needed any kind of help.
