Frozenstream padded along the bank of the river, looking down into it and searching for fish. The bright sun's glare reflected on the body of water, making it nearly impossible to see whatever lay within. The white tom cat squinted his eyes to the greatest limit, but couldn't pick out any silvery figures wriggling about below the surface. Shaking his head he decided to head up the river and towards the twolegplace. Maybe there would be more fish to hunt there.
Frozenstream gently padded against the moist ground by the river's edge. He enjoyed the feeling of the watered ground beneath his feet, no matter how the mud beneath his paws stained his snow white coat. He stared over at the ThunderClan border, looking at sunningrocks with a hint of envy in his eyes - the two clans would always make war over it, keeping it as their territory for a short period of time before it was forfeited to the other side, though usually it stayed a part of ThunderClan more than it did RiverClan.
There were no cats on the other side, thank StarClan. No one to harass him as he took a simple walk on his side of the border. Frozenstream once again peered down into the water, but the glare of the sun was still too bright. The white tom cat sighed as his crystal blue eyes stared into the water - this was the one thing to hate about newleaf and greenleaf, how the sun reflected off of the river!

--Silverstar padded through the forest, aware of all the sights and smells, the wonderful things about new-leaf. The gentle but cooling wind played with her pelt, refreshing against the blaring sun. As Silverstar appraoched the river she heard the sound of the rushing of the river, but she smelled something else. As she got closer she recognized Frozenstream, her mate.
--She walked up to him and nuzzled against his cheeck, enjoying the warmth of his pelt. "Hello, Frozenstream, my love," she said in a soft tone. "Catching any fish?" she then questioned. Silverstar sat down besides her mate to join him. She hid her shadow from the fish in the river, and waited for a fish to rise to the surface. As soon as she saw a flash a silver, she dipped her paw in and flicked the poor fish out, where it lay squirming for a while, before she quickly killed it with a bite to the neck.
--She glanced back at Frozenstream, purring, to see if he had caught anything, if he had a reply to her question. He was sitting next to the river, staring into it. Silverstar purred louder.

Frozenstream had been intently staring into the river when he could feel the warmth of another cat resting upon his cheek. He was greeted by the familiar voice of his mate, Silverstar, who spoke in a soft voice. "No, no fish yet. It's hard to see past how the sun reflects on the surface of the water. So bright, you can hardly see anything that could be beneath the surface." he looked over at his mate, who had somehow spotted a fish and successfully caught it. 'Well, don't I just have the worst of luck today?'
"Lovely catch, it should be able to feed an elder." Frozenstream purred as he once again stared into the water, squinting his eyes and trying to pick up the form of a fish. 'Hmm, that's a silver thing. I think it's moving... just a bit closer.' He could hear and feel the purrs of Silverstar rippling across her fur, and it felt only comforting. The white tom paused to look over at Silverstar and lick the fur behind her ear, before focusing once again upon the river. The silver figure had slowly been making is way towards him.
Now that it was nearby, Frozenstream decided to take a chance. Holding his paw into the air, he pinpointed the position of the fish before scooping it up out of the water. The fish landed on the shore nearby, and Frozenstream was quick to bite its neck and end it. Satisfaction bubbled within him as he carried his fish over to his mate and set it down in the pile she had started to create, before resuming his position next to her and staring into the water once again.

--Silverstar looked at her small, dead fish on the riverbank, then looked to her mate again. "No, no fish yet. It's hard to see past how the sun reflects on the surface of the water. So bright, you can hardly see anything that could be beneath the surface," he replied in answer to her question. "It's not your fault," Silverstar replied, seeming to read Frozenstream's mind. "It is just bad luck."
--"Lovely catch, it should be able to feed an elder," Frozenstream meowed. Silverstar nodded her head in agreement. Her mate gently lick the fur behind her ears and returned his gaze to the water's edge, hoping to catch a fish. Her purring increased in volume, her happiness set.
--Silverstar saw a silver fish, and her mate saw it too. Her dipped his paw into the water and produced a fish, quickly and skillfully killing it. "Nice catch," she purred to him. Their pile was small, but it would continue to grow in size. Frozensteam added his fish next to her's, and it kind of reminded her of them, an odd thought.

Frozenstream wasn't surprised when Silverstar spoke as if she'd known her thoughts - it seemed natural for her to read whatever was on his mind. It was quite comforting knowing that some cat would always understand what was bothering him or what he was truly thinking. He nodded as he looked over at the small pile of fish, knowing that he would work hard alongside his mate in order to ensure that RiverClan had enough to eat. It was newleaf, and prey was growing abundant once again, and there would be no excuse for returning home with a measly two fish. Besides, he enjoyed whatever time he could spend with Silverstar.
Once again he fixated his gaze upon the running stream, squinting and trying to make out any moving figures that were silvery in color. A flash of brightness caught his eyes, and he realized the sun had reflected the shining scale of a fish. His attention was averted to the new moving thing he had spotted, and the white-furred RiverClan tom waited patiently for it to make its way to the shore. However, the fish seemed to have no such idea on its agenda, so Frozenstream dangled his tail into the water, trying to bait the fish.
The curious thing slowly made its way towards the foreign object that was invading its space, and its curiousity proved to be fatal. With a skilled swoop of the paw, Frozenstream caused the fish to fly onto the shore, and the experienced hunter was sure to make an end of it. 'Thank you StarClan for the lives of these fish.' he praised as he bit down on the fish's neck and waited until it stopped flopping on the shores. Carrying it over to the pile of two previously caught fish, Frozenstream deposited his kill and proceeded to sit next to his mate again.

--Frozenstream saw the next fish first. I was a flash of nothing more than color and light, but didn't appear to be near them. Silverstar was about to move on, when her mate took his tail and placed it in the water, dangling it about. The fish approach and, quickly, a paw darted down and scoopted the fish, killed it, and placed it near the ever growing pile of fish for their clan.
--Silverstar looked towards her mate, still purring loudly. She loved being alone with him, only his fur against her pelt and his kind words of wisdom... She turned back to the river. There were three small fish, but farther down there was a rather large fish. She got up and padded wordlessly to the place. Then she wriggled down, just like a hunter's crouch, and streched her belly out as far as she could. The fish swam around, unaware of any danger.
--As quick as a flash of lightning, Silverstar splashed her paw into the river and drew forth a flopping and very large fish, and she killed it. "That you Starclan for the meal we can provide our clan," she thought. Then she looked down at the fish and meowed, "Thank you for giving up your life for out clan." Silverstar trotted back to where Frozenstream stood and deposited her fish in the pile.

Frozenstream purred as he watched his mate walk away from him without a word, her eyes focused upon something in the depths of the waters. 'No doubt something must have caught her eye - some sort of shell or maybe even another fish.' He watched intently as his mate assumed a position similar to the hunter's crouch. With skill and accuracy, her paw splashed into the water and brought forth a large fish, and Frozenstream watched with widened eyes. 'What a large fish! By StarClan, it looks large enough to feed two queens and their litters! Thank you StarClan, such a bountiful kill!'
"Lovely catch. Maybe we should try over there since the fish are so running so well in that area?" Frozenstream suggested as he tried to pick out more large figures. He could see a few questionable things wriggling about in the water, and he squinted his eyes, trying to determine if they were fish or water plants. 'No, those are definitely fish.' The white tom got to his feet and slowly and stealthily padded over to where his mate had been only moments ago, looking into the depths of the water for fish. Sure enough, at least two big fish were swimming barely below the surface.
Sitting down and being extremely cautious as to not warn the fish of his presence, the RiverClan tom once again dangled his tail in the water, trying to lure one of the fish to him. Sure enough, one of the large ones charged straight for his tail, too quickly for Frozenstream to react. It bit down on his tail and Frozenstream let out a loud yowl, before snatching it out of the water with his paw and biting down on its neck. He looked over at his tail, which had lost some of its long fur. 'Thank StarClan it's still in one piece! That was a strong fish.' Picking up the catch, he trotted back over to the small pile of fish and placed down his bounty. 'Thank you StarClan, newleaf is already proving to be a generous season.'

--Silverstar was very happy with all the fish that they had managed to catch. Her mate padded over to her and meowed, "Lovely catch. Maybe we should try over there since the fish are so running so well in that area?" His lyrics were calm and soothing, going right into Silverstar as milk and honey. "Yes," she replied. "A plentiful spot."
--Silverstar spotted a fish at the same time as Frozenstream. There were two large ones, and Frozenstream had wasted no time in dangling down his tail, waiting for the fish to come to him. Silverstar did the same thing, the fish approached the see what was attacking it, and Silverstar put down her silver tabby paw into the water and the fish knew no more.
--A cry made Silverstar turn in worry to her mate. "Frozenstream," she said anxiously. "What is the matter?" But then she saw the large, dead fish and the bite marks and missing tufts of fur in his tail, the fish had bitten down hard and fast. "Poor Frozenstream," she meowed. She licked Frozenstream's tail to help it, purring to calm him while she did.
--Silverstar looked to the pile of six fish, three of them very large. "I think that is enough to feed our clan," she said. "Want to return to camp now?"

Frozenstream looked over at his tail, and insisted, "Oh, it's nothing, just a bit of missing fur. It just hurt when it bit so unexpectedly." Yet Silverstar's tender lick seemed to cause the throbbing pain to halt, and her purring calmed him down. It was as if the wound had completely disappeared because of the soothing and caring presence of his mate. He smiled and meowed, "Thanks, it feels much better now. Oh, and the catch you made is nice." Frozenstream purred as he looked Silverstar in the eyes - just being with her made his world calm and serene.
The white tom looked over at the pile of six fish - three of them were moderately sized, and the other three were large and would make a nice meal for any cat. He nodded as he looked back over at Silverstar, "Yes, that should be enough. Surely the other warriors have also been as blessed as us, to find fish like this." Padding over to the pile, Frozenstream sorted the fish out. He would carry two of the big ones and one of the smaller ones, his jaws were bigger anyways. Reaching his neck down so that he could grab the fish, Frozenstream gently clamped his jaws down on the catches, making sure not to ruin them by putting too many puncture holes into them.

[blckquote]--Silverstar licked and purred, enjoying the closeness with her mate. "Oh, it's nothing, just a bit of missing fur. It just hurt when it bit so unexpectedly," he meowed, but then seemed to change his mind. "Thanks, it feels much better now. Oh, and the catch you made is nice." They both stood in silence for a while, purring in harmony.
--Silverstar looked to their pile of fish proudly. It would be enough to feed many cats. Yes, that should be enough. Surely the other warriors have also been as blessed as us, to find fish like this," Frozenstream said. He went to the pile and collected some of the fish in his maw. Silverstar bent down and gently took the rest of them, her mouth was just big enough to fit them. She held two of the smaller ones and one larger one.
--"I am sure that our warriors have been having the same amount of luck as we have. They are skilled and the fish comes rich in the stream" Silverstar meowed happily. She padded awy from the river and started to walk home, with her mate following right behind her. [/blockquote]
