The morning was warm, and birds were chittering and chattering about in the bushes that littered the WindClan camp. Every sound gave way to the beautiful and breathtaking scents of new-leaf. The waking sun shimmered down onto the dens in the shallow bowl of the camp. No cat had risen yet, but the silver-pelt guard still stood his post. The new guard would soon rise and take the others post. It was peaceful this morning, so the guard didn't seem in too much of a hurry to go to his den.
Inside the leader's den, the soft dawn filtered down onto the soft white fur of Blizzardstar. The warmth roused him from his slumber, and his blue, blue eyes opened. He gazed blindly about the den, before pushing himself off of his stomach, and onto his large paws. He easily shook the loose feathers of his nest off his white pelt, and then stretched each limb in turn. He yawned large and long, and then pushed through the exit of his den. Instantly, the vibrations of the world around him pressed against him. This was how he saw. He saw just about everything a normal cat did, except it was just a little bit darker, and he couldn't see color.
Blizzardstar stepped carefully into the middle of the camp, and sniffed slowly at the fresh-kill pile. It was running low this morning. He would have to get a small patrol up and ready to go soon. Or he could go hunting himself, which didn't sound like such a bad idea. It actually sounded refreshing, as he hadn't been out of camp in a few days. Yet, going along didn't sound too fun. He sighed. He'd just stay in for now, and wait for a few more cats to take up before he left the camp to hunt. His mate would still be sleeping this morning, so he didn't want to bother her.

Brushclaw could feel the rays on sunlight shining down onto her brown tabby pelt. Waking up with an enormous yawn, she got to her feet and padded out of the den, not too careful about waking other cats up. Stretching her long, lean legs, she stared up into the sunlight and grumpily remarked, "Of course, so bright it just has to ruin the days I'm not on dawn patrol." She shook her head and yawned again, at least it would mean that the prey was running well still, unless twolegs had gone off and poisoned it. She grunted and looked around the camp to see if she wasn't the only one awake. She was quick to spot the snow white pelt of Blizzardstar, who was standing by the fresh-kill pile. 'Hmph, glad to see the sun didn't rudely awaken me alone.'
She walked over to the fresh-kill pile. Normally, she would have made some snide remark, something like, 'Ah, can't you just see how the rays of sunlight color on the ground? Oh wait, you can't.', but Blizzardstar was her leader, and she knew that she could get into plenty of trouble if she insulted him. 'Hmph, cats and their being sensitive. Sometimes they just need to loosen up and understand a joke!' Brushclaw thought with a grunt. She looked over at Blizzardstar and spoke, "So, what brings you up so early? You can suddenly see the sun burning into your eyes or something?", said in the same manner of sarcasm as she'd use with any other cat, as if she'd forgotten how to behave around her leadership.
Her blue eyes glanced at the sun again, but she quickly withdrew them because of how it burned. 'Times like these and I wish I couldn't see.' the she-cat complained in her head.

Blizzardstar straightened up just as the scent of Brushclaw hit his nose. He could feel her coming closer, and turned to face her before she even reached him. He gave her a strong nod, greeting her kindly, as he always did. He'd lived with her long enough to know that she wasn't the nicest cat in the Clan, but he still didn't treat her poorly. He'd never yelled at her or anything for her snide remarks, and merely shrugged them off, and pointed out that her remarks really didn't affect him.
"So, what brings you up so early? You can suddenly see the sun burning into your eyes or something?" Blizzardstar couldn't help but purr at her. "No, just couldn't sleep anymore. I was thinking of going hunting pretty soon. I wanted a few more warriors up before I did though." he purred, staring straight at her, as if his blue gaze could actually see her. He sat down, and began to lick his paw, running it over his ears and whiskers. "How did you sleep, Brushclaw?" he asked with a serene smile. He laid his tail across his paws, and tilted his head slightly, waiting for an answer.

{ Lawl that's fine, I think the whole Stephen Colbert crusade and the LolBlizzardness kinda messed up our muse XD } "Hmph, I'll go hunting with you. May as well do something now that I'm awake." Brushclaw grunted. Brushclaw sat down near the fresh-kill pile, looking over its contents with boredom. Mostly rabbits, along with the occasional field mouse or bird. Brushclaw wasn't hungry though, she was more focused on complaining about how the sun had so rudely interrupted her sleep session that morning. When Blizzardstar asked the brown tabby she-cat how she had slept, Brushclaw's blue eyes stared into his with disbelief, as she spoke with sarcasm, "Oh, the most amazing sleep ever. I slept just like a kit in the nursery."
'What else did you think, mousebrain? I'm here only because the sun woke me up. Newleaf usually brings amazing sleep, as you wake up to a nearly perfect atmosphere. But no, today the sun just had to shine right into my eyes and wake me.' Brushclaw once again glanced over at the fresh-kill pile, her thoughts of complaint replaced by those of hunger. 'But I should wait. I haven't caught anything yet.' she shook her head as she looked over at the pile again. "Hmph, enjoying the weather?" Brushclaw questioned, attempting to get her mind off of the food.
If she were going hunting, the last thing she needed to think about was food. In fact, she'd have to be ready to go out and catch as many rabbits as she could. She'd catch more than any other cat in her patrol - she knew she would. And if not, she'd make a great effort to do so. 'I've only been out-hunted... do I even keep track of these things? No, I've gone on too many patrols in the last moons to even count how many times I didn't catch the most prey.' Brushclaw sighed and shifted her paws uncomfortably, looking down and finding the culprit of her discomfort. A small, pointed rock had been penetrating into her pad. Sighing, she batted it away and once again resumed a calm, sitting position.
