Looking over into the water for any silvery figures, Frozenstream found a spot with a suitable amount of fish. Signaling with his tail for Sorrelpaw to halt, he padded forward and sat down by the stream, careful to not let his shadow slip into the water. 'Patience. It is all that matters when hunting fish, as accuracy. Other clans may simply be able to pounce on their prey or chase it, but we must wait for our prey to come to us, with trickery and deceit, and then we strike.' The white tom's crystal blue eyes gazed into the water as he waited for a fish to swim close enough to him that he could strike.
Eventually a fish had gotten a little to close to the shore, and Frozenstream made an experienced and swift scoop into the water as the fish went flying into the air and started flopping around the shore. Getting to his paws hastily, he leaned down and bit down on the neck of his prey, and it's strength slowly faded and it lay on the ground without movement. "Now, did you see that? How you accurately scoop out the fish and then bite down on its neck? You try. It should be easier for you now. And remember, don't let the fish see your shadow. And you can use your tail to lure them in if they don't come to you."

--Frozenstream looked into the river, probably looking for fish, and then he waved his tail for Sorrelpaw to stop walking. Sorrelpaw watched his mentor very carefully, following her every move. Frozenstream looked at the water, never moving and Sorrelpaw noticed that his shadow was hidden.
--Then he dipped his paw very quickly into the water, and pulled out a fish, killing it with a quick bite to the neck. Sorrelpaw watched in awe. "Now, did you see that? How you accurately scoop out the fish and then bite down on its neck? You try. It should be easier for you now. And remember, don't let the fish see your shadow. And you can use your tail to lure them in if they don't come to you."
--Sorrelpaw sat down at the river's bank. She made sure that her shadow was not showing, and then she waited, finding it a bit hard to sit still. When she saw a fish, she delicately scooped her paw into the water at an angle, and produced a fish. It lay flopping on the ground for a bit, but then Sorrelpaw killed it in the same way that her mentor had.

Frozenstream resumed his position by the stream, keeping a close eye on Sorrelpaw so that he could critique her on anything if she missed. 'Hmph, her positioning is good, and I can tell that she's made sure that her shadow isn't on the water. A little fidgety, but that is to be expected out of an apprentice excited to catch their first piece of prey. Over all, she's doing well - let's see if her accuracy is as good.' His crystal blue gaze was completely focused on Sorrelpaw, intently watching every move that she made.
Frozenstream watched as the orange tabby she-cat scooped the fish out of the water and sure enough, a fish flew into the air and started flopping around on the nearby shore. She then bit down on its neck and the fish went limp. "Good job!" Frozenstream purred as pride surged through him. "Would you like to keep catching more or go back to camp? Everyone will be proud for you - catching prey on the first day is an achievement that only a few apprentices accomplish." Frozenstream smiled as he looked at the two fish that the both of them had caught. 'Sure, it isn't enough to feed an entire clan, but there are other warriors out there who don't have apprentices to train.'

[blockquote--Sorrelpaw was very excited as she looked down at the fish near her paws. She wriggled with happiness. "Good job!" her mento purred to her. Then he asked, "Would you like to keep catching more or go back to camp? Everyone will be proud for you - catching prey on the first day is an achievement that only a few apprentices accomplish."
--Sorrelpaw thought about it for a while. The two fish they had got feed some hungry bellies, and the clan had lot's more fresh-kill waiting for them. Plus, Sorrelpaw was eager to train, though she wondered if she would be able to, if they had enough time, and if Frozenstream was willing.
--"Let's go back to camp," Sorrelpaw meowed, thoughtfully and carefully. Then she resumed her excited sort of dance, just like a newborn kit. Sorrelpaw wanted to bite down on her own freshly caught prey and feel how good it tasted, but she knew she shouldn't, it would probably go to some elder or newborn kit, especially since Silverstar's kits were coming soon.
--Sorrelpaw leaped in front, heading towards camp, not really waiting for her mentor, but hoping that he was behind her. [/blockquote]
