--Gorsepaw lay still on the ground, not moving, and only chatting with Flightpaw, who had not seemed to notice the regaining strength in Gorsepaw. Gorsepaw was glad just to make it out of the fight alive. "Ah, killing off me? What brave words for such a coward. Watch, you'll die soon. Then all you'll have to say is ... oh, nothing. Your words are meaningless, just as your life - you cannot understand my true vision. I am sure that there are others, little brother, that understand what I speak of. But only the weak-hearted don't have the guts to carry out what is almost necessary."
--Gorsepaw grimaced at the words. "You are the one who can not understand," he said sadly. "You could be great and good brother." Gorsepaw hoped he was giving an image that Flightpaw could use, and he could have hope again.
--Flightpaw spoke suddenly. "Now, now. Are you going to die soon or am I going to have to do it for you? A patrol should come back anytime soon, and I don't want it to look like I've gone and killed you..." Gorsepaw jerked. What if he really was going to die? He had to warn his clan...
--"Ah, ratface? What a pitiful insult. There are other words that could describe me, little brother. Perhaps ratface works, but in that case I will call you a mouseheart." Gorsepaw seemed to put the words to the back of his mind, not really caring....

"A great and good brother? Am I not one now?" Flightpaw sneered as he looked down at Gorsepaw. "Truly pitiful, aren't you? Nothing will make me any kinder. It's a weakness, something that can be taken advantage of. If I were at your standards of a 'good and great' brother, then I would be thoroughly disgusted with myself." the long-furred tabby tom hissed as he padded forward. 'You're taking too long. Just die already - I don't want any other knowing of this. Our little game - so simple and innocent.'
"Hmm, perhaps I may spare of you if you promise not to tell - but to trust would also be a weakness. Never can you allow another to know your secrets, because some day it will be used against you." the tactical little tabby meowed as he placed a paw on his little brother's stomach. Amber eyes stared at the warm blood that was beginning to dry - 'Beginning to dry!? NO! You're supposed to be dying, rat!' Flightpaw's burning anger was replaced by fear and anxiety - what if he WAS discovered? He'd be banished from the clans, then where would he go? His name would forever be Flightpaw, he'd never become a warrior!
Flightpaw hissed at Gorsepaw and growled, "You better die or run away. One of those two - no one can know what happened here! If you dare tell a single soul, I'll be sure to gut you and the person you trust with such a secret! If the clans ever find out... I will make them turn on you. Little runt, rat! Get out of here! I may spare you if you swear to never tell a single soul, or I may kill you if you do tell." the apprentice hissed hastily and furiously - no doubt rushed by fear and the anxiety of being found guilty of the murder of a clanmate. --Flightpaw leered down on Gorsepaw, it was truely creepy, but Gorsepaw looked right back into his eyes and held his gaze. "A great and good brother? Am I not one now?" Flightpaw asked mockingly. "Truly pitiful, aren't you? Nothing will make me any kinder. It's a weakness, something that can be taken advantage of. If I were at your standards of a 'good and great' brother, then I would be thoroughly disgusted with myself."
--Gorsepaw looked into Flightpaw's eyes. "Then you cannot be changed," he said simply. "But I wish it were not so." Flightpaw placed a paw on Gorsepaw's stomach and continued to speak. "Hmm, perhaps I may spare of you if you promise not to tell - but to trust would also be a weakness. Never can you allow another to know your secrets, because some day it will be used against you."
--Then Flightpaw began to realize something, and he spoke with haste. "You better die or run away. One of those two - no one can know what happened here! If you dare tell a single soul, I'll be sure to gut you and the person you trust with such a secret! If the clans ever find out... I will make them turn on you. Little runt, rat! Get out of here! I may spare you if you swear to never tell a single soul, or I may kill you if you do tell." Gorsepaw was excited that Flightpaw was nervous and might be found out, there was hope after all.

Flightpaw could almost feel the satisfaction in Gorsepaw as he grew nervous. The brown tabby apprentice felt a small flame of rage ignite within him, but it was quickly doused out by the overwhelming feeling of anxiety. "Enough! Choose already, you little runt." Flightpaw growled with frustration as he raised his paw into the air. "Choose between life or death! Either I kill you now or I let you run away. Pick! One or the other! Now, before I am FORCED to go with option one! I spare you simply because I have an obligation to, being your 'brother'. Now pick!" he hissed.
'Mercy, why am I giving him this? ... there should be no room for it. But I know what will happen, somehow this will come into light. Either he will speak to Fernwhisker or some other cat of importance as a starry dead cat, or he will tell of this to a cat who can be found wherever he runs to. But I suppose it is better than he run and speak of this to some loner... but then what about the blood? Ah, yes. The coward will have been attacked by a fox and then fled because he was scared of the life of a warrior. Pity.'
Sheathing and unsheathing his claws as if he were a human tapping their finger on a surface with impatience, Flightpaw stared down at Gorsepaw, waiting for an answer. [/size]
